Sliver Of Perfection

A Sliver of Perfection
You followed me into my stare
My love was for you to share
But you just passed by
Just to leave me there
I wonder what was to be
Some sort of tragic ending?
Or was there more
Like a chance of love everlasting
I cover up my true emotions
I do not dare to speak of them
But when I do
You will never hear my words again
Drowning in the shallow end
Forgetting how to swim
Leaving less room
My lungs thirst for air again
My eyes follow something new
A new love potion to be stewed
A drink and then
You heart will beat through and through
A sliver of perfection
Seems like a false redemption
Though I thought it was you
Who could be the only exception
