New Music For Your Ears

I am always the search for new music. Whether it is a new band that I have discovered, or a new release from one of my favorite artists, the search is never complete.  This year in music has brought a few new albums that I would like to suggest to you fellow music fans.  Some of the artists are fairly new; others have been in the music game for a while now and still proving they have what it takes to keep on making hits.

Although they are not what they use to be, Korn still manages to produce a raw and edge sound that keeps the fans happy. Korn’s last album was not a big seller, so they teamed up with producer Ross Robinson, who helped Korn become who they are today, to create a new album. After listening to it a couple of time, there are songs on the album that remind of the early Korn riffs and heavy sound that put Korn on the map. It is not their best album, but I have to say it is better than a lot of the previous albums that this band has released.

Another new album that hit the charts this year was the metal core band Bullet for My Valentine. Fever, the new album, offers a variety of heavy metal, to some ballads, and also vocals that tend to be more like singing and less like screaming. It is a great album to have, especially for rock fans. I have just recently started becoming a fan of this band, and once I heard the new album Fever, I was sold. The sound is incredible. The drums, guitar, bass and vocals are unique and definitely stand out among other artists. So rock and metal fans, I suggest, if you haven’t already, get this album.

On a little softer side, one of my all time favorite artists released an album this year and I must say they still know how to rock n roll. Stone Temple Pilots emerged on the grunge scene in the early nineties. But with unique style and creative lyric writing, Stone Temple Pilots are considered one of the greatest bands in the nineties. And yes, they are back. With their new self titled album, they still know how to create music people love. The album opens up with the song, Between the Lines, and right away you are hooked. It is one of the more fast paced songs on the album, but by far one of the best. Listeners who are fans of this band will notice that the band has not changed much over the years. Their style and music creation is still as good as it ever has been. 

I am not the biggest rap fan out there, but I do enjoy a few rap artists. Especially the artists that stand out among the rest that continues to produce rap or hip/hop albums. Eminem is no ordinary rapper by any means. His flow, style and lyrics, make him one of the best in the rap and hip/hop era. And his new album is worth getting. Recovery, his newest album, once again proves why Eminem is one of the best at what he does. Never a dull moment with this album and each song offers something different. He doesn’t just rap about cars, money and fame, but real life issues and problems. And he is not afraid to say what is on his mind. Recovery is a good buy.

These are just a few of the albums and reviews for fellow music buffs. I am constantly on the lookout for new music. I am always open to hearing new music as well.
